Back in April we were delighted to play a small part in a music video for top Irish band Soda Blonde.

The video was shot at dawn in the Dublin and Wicklow mountains on a freezing cold, yet beautiful sunny morning. The stunning light played its part as it bathed the classic BMW in the most special golden light as we captured the car’s movement across the stunning scenery.

Faye and Adam from the band were very hands on. Faye does her own stunt driving while Adam directed the shoot. As dawn broke, our 1st location was at the Sally Gap – the frost capped grassy edges glistened as the fog lifted from the hills. A colourful haze lit up the silhouette of the mountains as the sun lifted slowly over them, creating a golden beam of light across the car as it cut through the cold dawn air.

Location two was just as special as we set up beside Lough Tay, one of the most photographed locations in the country, which didn’t disappoint us. The light continued to gift us with beautiful sun flares and contrasting shadows as it cut through the trees and hills. The frost was still present in places and glistened against the browns and reds of the spring foliage while it lit up the stunning blue 1973 BMW used in the video.

We wrapped on the day and not before we had some photos taken with Faye and Adam who were really generous with their time and so great to work with. From not knowing much about the band and their upcoming album, we set about putting that right – and that we did! From that moment on, we have become hooked on Soda Blonde and the album Small Talk. We have listened to it endlessly over the past months and cannot wait to catch the guys live soon.

The Album “Small Talk” is out July 9th and available from www.sodablonde.com
