To our clients of 2020 + 2021,

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy. Right now, we are all currently in a situation that we have never experienced before as a result of the spread of COVID-19. We feel it is important to have open communication with all of you, even as we maintain cautious optimism for Christmas celebrations. We do not want to cause any unnecessary anxiety, but with so much uncertainty from day to day and week to week, communication is key.

We want you to celebrate & be able to truly enjoy your wedding and the weeks/months leading up to it. We are rooting for you to have the day you dreamed of and we are doing everything in our power to make sure we are a part of it.

Rescheduling, downsizing, postponing or canceling your wedding

Should the government or NPHET recommendations of social distancing and quarantine lead you to cancel your wedding, whether as a result of the venue, planner, other vendors or your own personal choice, we understand and respect your decision.

We will not pressure you to make this call sooner than you have to; please know that we are on your team.

Contracts and rescheduling, downsizing, postponing or canceling your wedding

As you know, we received a non-refundable payment upon booking your wedding. If the wedding is cancelled or rescheduled, whether as a result of government recommendation, third party choice (venue, etc) or personal choice, we will not refund this payment. That said, should you choose to cancel and not reschedule you will, of course, not be expected to pay any remaining balance beyond the payment on your wedding video contract.

We are making a huge exception to our contracts because of this pandemic: You may reschedule your 2020 wedding date and apply the entire payment towards a new date. While under normal circumstances this would be considered a cancellation, we are allowing you to transfer your contract to a new date with no additional fee or penalty. If you do a second reschedule, a €150 fee will apply + any pricing updates. Please note that your non-refundable payment cannot be transferred to another couple, be it family or friend. It must be used for the couple only.

If you decide to still move forward with your wedding date and downsize or elope, please reach out to us at info@skylarkfotos.com so we can discuss how we can work together using your payment to best allocate our hours. We are now offering quality audio & visuals for your guests who cannot make it so they can tune in and watch you make your vows to one another. Reach out & let’s chat about how we can best serve you.

Rescheduling a wedding

  • You must reach out before choosing a reschedule date to get our availability. We will be making every possible day available to you that we are are not already booked.
  • Once you have a new date that you have checked on with us, we will sign a new contract transferring your existing contract to the new date.
  • Should you choose a date without checking on our availability first or should you choose a date that you know that we are already booked for, you will be considered as cancelling your contract and forfeiting your payment.
  • All rescheduled weddings must take place before the end of 2021 or your contract will be considered cancelled by you and your retainer forfeited.

Cancel

If you decide that a cancelation is the best decision for you, we will send a cancellation addendum to your contract. No further payments will be due. The date will now be open to new inquiries, potentially an elopement or smaller wedding. Our payments are non-refundable per our contract. However, if we are able to rebook the date, we will refund you up to what the new client paid, and minus any used portion such as pre-wedding or locations sessions.

Refunds

Refunds on payments for cancelled weddings are not available. We are not making an exception to this part of our contract.

That being said, beyond a rescheduled wedding, we are making additional exceptions to our contract under the unique circumstances of this pandemic: Your retainer can be used toward another video session such as an elopement, engagement session or adventure session, or something else we discuss that is comparable in scope to wedding videography. These must be scheduled and used by the end of 2021.

Questions

If there is something that we didn’t cover in the above information, please let us know. We are on your team and want you to have the most amazing wedding you can possibly have. We are here to help you however we can. If you have any questions as to our protocols, plans, contracts or payment schedules, please ask. We think it’s important for all of us to know where we stand and so that you can communicate clearly with each other, your family, your guests, your other wedding vendors and your wedding insurance should you need to.

Please reach out via email at info@skylarkfotos.com if you have any additional questions or want to start a personal conversation.
